The Story unfolds

Baku, a half-human, half-elven bard, was born into a travelling caravan of performers, where music shaped his earliest understanding of the world. From a young age, his connection to song was unnatural, he sang in his sleep, weaving melodies that stirred powerful emotions in others and hinted at something deeper. Through these dreams, he encountered Lumino, a mysterious fae companion, and glimpsed the edges of a hidden realm beyond waking life. As he grew, so did the sense that he stood between two worlds, watched by unseen forces and tied to something far older than he understood. His youth was marked by love and belonging, as he formed a deep bond with a fellow performer who would later become his wife. Together, they built a life filled with music, magic, and eventually a child. But that life was shattered when darkness took hold of her, tearing their family apart in a single devastating night. His wife vanished, his son disappeared, and Baku was left scarred physically and emotionally, with only fragments of his past and a growing connection to the dream realm. In the aftermath, Baku sought meaning rather than surrendering to despair. Under the guidance of a blind wizard, he refined both his magic and his music, learning to bridge the gap between waking and dreaming. Through visions and encounters with the enigmatic Dreamweaver Court, he uncovered a greater truth: he was being hunted. A fallen entity known as the Night’s Herald sought to manipulate his dreams, using twisted creations to mislead and weaken him, all while Baku searched desperately for his lost son.

His journey eventually brought him into the company of others, most notably Orin, a quiet and haunted man who found healing in Baku’s unconscious songs. Their shared travels forged a bond of mutual restoration, and though their paths eventually diverged, Orin left Baku with a powerful gift: enchanted Moonthread armour capable of shifting form based on memory and intent. With it, Baku embraced a new identity, no longer just a wandering bard, but a dream-touched protector capable of confronting the forces stalking him across realms. Now travelling with new allies like the fierce orc Kato, Baku continues forward on a path shaped by loss, music, and destiny. From battling nightmare-born creatures to aiding cities plagued by darkness, his power, and the attention it draws continues to grow. As ancient threats stir within both dreams and the waking world, Baku stands at the center of a widening conflict, guided by hope, haunted by what he has lost, and driven by the unyielding need to find his son and confront the forces that shattered his life.
